We are launching our podcast today, Women Who Work With Men. The show for professional women who work with men. For women who are raising the upper limits on their voice, their presence, their pay and their impact, all while having a laugh.
I get it. I know how it is to be that only woman in the meeting or the discussion. To over-prepare, when you know darn well that at least a couple of the guys there with you know less and get paid more.
This show is for you. For the women who want to get past being talked over and decide how they want to be seen and heard. For the women who want to get some insight, take action, and have some laughs identifying with some of the things they go through on a daily basis.
For over 25 years, I was usually the only woman in the senior leadership meetings with all men.
Over the years, the companies that I worked at served customers such as the Coca Cola Company, Pepsico, Kelloggs, Victoria’s Secret, Bath & Bodyworks, Gillette, 3M, Lord & Taylor, LL Bean, Brookstone and many more.
The bottom line is that through the years, I’ve gained insight into how senior leadership works when you are the only woman or in a very small minority of women. There are patterns.
Each week we touch on topics that professional women deal with on a daily basis, and give actionable tips and advice, along with a good laugh to make the daily grind so much better. You’ll get some great ideas, some funny stories and leave with a big Cheshire cat smile that will last the week. It’s not complaining– we’re just not that into mansplaining.
My goal is simple – I’ve been in your shoes, and I want to help you navigate the nuances of your situation and improve your daily life at work. I’m going to help you have the impact that you want to have, and do it with confidence.
This week’s show is on the concept of Owning Your “No”.
Next week we have an interview with Barbara Res, a woman who worked with Donald trump for 18 years during the golden years of building the Trump Tower and more. She worked with him daily. She was the boots-on-the-ground person in charge of the reconstruction of the Grand Hyatt in NYC. She’s also an Engineer, an Attorney and the author of All Alone on the 68th Floor: How One Woman Changed the Face of Construction (How’s that for a résumé!).
She offers insight into Donald Trump like few people can, and how his presidency may impact your roles as women in your company.
Thanks so much for listening.
