Chances are you have outgrown your role, the box you are in, your boss, your company and maybe even your career. So What’s Next?
We all change and I’m hoping that you are someone who is continually learning, searching and finding new ways to up their game in life.
Last week we talked about the common trap of working so hard on someone else’s dream while forgetting to pursue your own. For today’s episode, I ask you to acknowledge what you’ve outgrown and think about what you’d like to outgrow.
If you’re lucky, you work at a company that highly values growing people along with growing the business. The truth is that no company can do one well without the other.
Oftentimes however, it’s only the latter. The irony of this is that in such companies talented people can end up outgrowing the company instead.
You know we can all joke about outgrowing clothes after the holidays, but sometimes people outgrow the style of their clothes rather than their size. The pants technically fit, but they just don’t feel right anymore.
It happens all the time, and if it’s happening to you, you should be very glad, because it represents a huge opportunity for you.

The first list is a list of things that you have outgrown and taken action on. Don’t leave anything out, because I would really like you to give yourself credit for this. It can be anything- like that big conversation you dreaded having. When you did that you outgrew that specific fear. Nice!
Follow this formula:
I outgrew ___________ and it let me ___________________.
Then I want you to make a list of things you want to outgrow and why, like this:
I’m choosing to outgrow ______________, so that I can become ______________.
You will learn a lot from actually taking the time to write this out!
