Networking. Even the bravest can feel their stomachs start to jump at the thought of this – but today’s guest will show us all how to connect and have fun.
Deena Baikowitz and I have been friends since we met years ago at a Pam Slim and Charlie Gilkey business retreat. So it’s a great treat to have a friend and a master networker share some of her secrets with all of us.
The great part of this relationship is that we have helped each other through the years with a variety of things. We both know that we can call each other when we have a challenge or even a funny story to share – we both love a good laugh.
Umm – that’s an example of how real networking works.
Deena is a fireball – in fact it’s the name of her company Fireball Network where she is the Chief Networking Officer and Co-founder. She runs New York City like it’s her living room. Because – it is. Deena knows what’s happening, who’s running it, who will be there, and which events are best suited for you to attend.
More importantly, she knows how to easily connect with all of them. The best networking is simply people. People connecting, learning, being curious and having some fun. It’s people you can have a conversation with, see what they might want some help with, and perhaps know someone to suggest.
Deena talks about new trends in networking – how to follow up – how much to follow up – how to start a fun conversation and so much more.
The old adage that people want to do business with people they know, like, and trust is still true.
You will hear all about this on the podcast
